Cocoa Alchemist began in Trinity Indoor Market, Hull, in 2015, with a simple idea: make proper artisan chocolate, from scratch, using fantastic ingredients. Founded by Jon Collins, the business has grown from a small market stall into an independent handmade chocolate shop built on care, curiosity and attention to detail. From the beginning, the focus has been the same - make everything by hand, take time over the process, and never compromise on flavour.

Over time, something else became clear.

There's something quietly special about transformation. Cocoa butter becomes colour. Liquid chocolate becomes a shining shell. A pinch of spice changes everything. Simple ingredients, handled with care, become something worth pausing for. That moment, when flavour surprises you, when texture is just right, when a gift feels personal, is what Cocoa Alchemist is all about.

 

Everything here is made in small batches, by hand. Every flavour has a reason behind it. Every box is assembled by hand. Every piece is made to be enjoyed, not rushed. We experiment. We refine. We rarely settle.

A new chapter

You may remember us as Cocoa Chocolatier. As the business evolved with more experimentation, more creativity and more ways to share what we do, it felt right to choose a name that reflected that spirit of transformation.

 

Cocoa Alchemist is the same team, the same hands, and the same commitment to doing things properly. Just a new chapter, now taking shape on Humber Street, Hull.​​
